Nice Mike. I'll have to invite myself round for a listen. :-)
“Music has always been a matter of energy to me, a question of fuel. Sentimental people call it inspiration, but what they really mean is fuel. I have always needed fuel. I am a serious consumer. On some nights I still believe that a car with the gas needle on empty can run about fifty more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio”

Very good indeed, very similar to the Zyx R100 that I normally use, if anything I'd say I've lost a little width in the soundstage and the placement of instruments isn't quite as precise, but I really like that the impact of drums and bass is more obvious and the overall tone of it suits me better, the detail of the Zyx is there but it's just a little smoother that makes sense. Switching back and forth between the Zyx and the Decca there was very little in it and to be honest I'm happy with both but the Decca sounds more like the sound I'm after. I could quite happily live with both, but ultimately one will be sold to recoup funds and at the moment the favourite to be sold is the Zyx, but that could all change once I get up and put the first LP of the day on lol.
I've had to switch out the Slagle pre of Ali's as it won't go loud enough to rock out, I've put my TQ Claymore amp back in as a pre mainly to gain more volume, but as it was very late when I put the Claymore into the system last night I didn't get a chance to have it too loud. Ok the pre on the Claymore isn't quite as good as the Slagle but it's not too far away, ok for normal listening the Slagle is perfect but for housework duties when I pump up the volume or when I want to put on some Sabbath and the like the Claymore is preferred, another difficult choice to be made with the Pre's.
Couple of mistracks which was worrying and it does seem more susceptible to my wooden floor bouncing if I move over it too keenly.
Not an easy cart to set up with the SMARTractor as it's difficult to see the tiny stylus from the viewing position on the SMARTractor, but I managed and arm is set level with 1.5g tracking and the same bias. The SMARTractor really is great and once you get used to it you can setup a cart in just a few minutes.
You are the first to also confirm my observation that the ZYX R100 has a very 'Decca like' presentation. The R100 H 02 even more so. I have also made the comparison.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!
