    Default Hello AoS people

I have been a live and recorded music fan since my mid teens and thankfully that has not changed all these years later!
Big fan of valve amps, still spin vinyl, but also play hi def flac files, you got to move with the times!
Dont change my kit much, very happy with the level I got to without breaking the bank, but if I was to splash out it would be on a full Audionote system....😊

It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

    Default Thanks for the welcome

Thanks for the welcome guys, and I am glad to see that 'Robs' are well represented on AoS!

In response to the question regarding my system, I have modest Icon audio valve amps for main and phone duties, a modded RP3 with DL160 for spinning vinyl, and Marantz for cd and network players. Baby B&Ws do speaker duty.

I also have a headphone set up for quiet listening, 600s with burson SL and fed by a fiio x1 playing flac files, I love this little set up...☺

Musical tastes are wide! I am an old prog rocker from my youth, but I also listen to folk, blues, jazz, classical, I seem to find something to like in most genres, although not so much rap or metal...lol!

I am a member on hifiwigwam, but it has lost its appeal for me and so I was glad to find AoS!

    Cheers.

    Rob
