Default TV series to watch with the girlfriend?

Out of the few things we've watched, she probably enjoyed American Horror Story (first season) the most. Sci-fi wouldn't Interest her and I personally wouldn't want to watch anything soppy.
Stuff we watch at the moment Is, Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead.

Anyone got any suggestions? Old or new?

    Thanks for the suggestions Adam.
Forgot that we've already watched Banshee. Don't think she liked it as much as the other stuff we've watched but I thought it was pretty good.

I'll check out the other suggestions when I get a chance.

Running on More 4 and started on season 1, currently episode 4.

Set in Scotland just before the Jacobite rebellion, tail of a WW2 nurse who ends up accidentally back in time. Fabulous imho

We've recently being enjoying Rebus on Alibi TV especially the ones with Ken Stott as the lead part. Also worth a second look is the original Prime Suspect series. It's amazing how so many of the story lines are relevant today. There again we were around for the originals so may not be up your street.

The Shield - old but gold

    Spartacus - old but gold

    Sons of anarchy - quality

Breaking bad - slow in the middle but ends strongly

Prison break - gets a bit repetitive after the first season.

Oh my god! There's nothing wrong with the bidet is there?

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”
