Mass does make a difference because it alters the amplitude of the input required to excite it. Note, I'm not espousing the use of high mass, but it's not true to say it doesn't matter either.
It made it look nice going round, this was mine.
I'm convinced it ruined my Delos though as my Rega arm at the time had no azimuth adjustment so when I moved the Delos to my LP12 one of the chanels had low output, in the end I had to buy a new one.
