Curry is for other people. I won't touch the stinky stuff. It looks like dog vomit!

I'm not really defending ready meals, just being real about it.

I just did a fine mushroom parpadelle. Some leftovers for work tomoz. Nicer by a margin than an M&S ready meal of the same type/name. But that is 3 minutes in the microwave and zero hassle really.

Defrosting stuff is always a fag if you don't preplan.

Marco - my reference book on curry making has apparently been discarded. I was going to photo a recipe or two just to show you what can be involved. It is extreme in some cases.
I get where you are coming from Justin, but for me even knackered i would rather cook fresh. I find for me its a good way to wind down after a full on day. Those 30mins are not as intense as you think, but depends of whats being cooked. After a 16hr hard day, i won't be cooking the same meal as a normal 8hr day, thats for sure.. Washing up, well not that bad if cooking a one pan meal.

You remind me of my Uncle Frank who spent 40 years working nights. Took his first foreign holiday (to France) in about 1983 with a suitcase full of pies and bacon.

Impossible. I don't eat pies or bacon!

    No.

Not exactly vegetarian, but not keen on red meat, apart from bangers and corned beef occasionally. Fish & poultry are OK though.

That sounds like my nearly vegetarian girlfriend who also eats chicken and fish but no red meat!

But red meat is the best of all the meats. Especially char-grilled.

Doing otherwise is simply pure laziness and/or you're devoting too much time to other things, which ultimately matters MUCH LESS than eating well and healthily!

    Marco.
Totally agree Marco. Did a curry course many years ago and love making from scratch but if Sue is away on a course or whatever then it is a lazy sod of a night in. Once in a while I love it.
