Default Greetings from sunny Oklahoma USA

On behalf of all sane Americans, I am so sorry we suddenly unleashed the Donald on an unsuspecting world.

Okay, with that out of the way, I have been an audio enthusiast for a long time and about 4-5 years ago, I got rid of my expensive gear and focused on getting great sound from budget friendly equipment. It's just more fun that way and I don't need a second mortgage to pay for my hobby
I read about the Raspberry Pi based dacs and streamers a few months ago and have tried a couple of boards. I am still tinkering and learning. This forum had a lot of useful Rpi info for me so I decided to stop lurking and sign up.

I primarily listen to classical and old school jazz with a bit of blues, folk and Americana sprinkled in. My main system includes KEF R700, Jolida 3502 power amp, Cary/Audio Electronics AE-3 preamp and a Technics SL1210mk2 deck with a Jelco 750D arm. My digital front end is still a work in progress.
    Cheers!
    -Darius

welcome darius , good to have you
ou might slip, you might slide, you might
Stumble and fall by the road side
But don't you ever let nobody drag your spirit down
Remember you're walking up to heaven

Don't let nobody turn you around
… Walk with the rich, walk with the poor
Learn from everyone, that's what life is for
And don't you let nobody drag your spirit down

    Hello Darius. Welcome to AOS.

Getting high quality sound without spending a fortune is a good way to go and it's surprising what can be achieved if you have the knowledge to get it right.

Tell us what future plans you may have for your system if any.

There's plenty going on here, so take a look around and join in any chat than interests you.

    Enjoy the forum,
    Geoff.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”
