Default Announcement of a new arrival

Well, after thinking things over I decided a change was in order and if you're got a mate who is selling something special then the time is right.
The delivery was a fairly painless affair and after a little wiggling and pushing they were in place.
They sound ffffff-ing lovely, I'm sure I'll find better ways to describe them but for now that will do.

Thanks Olly, I'd been listening to my Harbeths for 25 years so the change was long overdue. Absolutly chuffed with them, Jamie actually said that if I'd changed my mind he would keep them but he's not getting them back lol. I hope the arm transplant is going well, I guess you could have done with the spare plinth to experiment with now......

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

I'm a little restricted for space and I need to move the CD racks sideways a tad but they fit in nicely and did I mention the sound, amazing

Very nice! After having had a pair of these on loan for a month or so many years back I was so impressed with them back then that I went overboard trying to persuade Jamie to just buy them when he was offered them at an amazing low price just up the road and was asking for opinions on them... If they had been closer and Jamie had passed them up I would have had them myself!

I don't congratulate people on their new purchases! But must say, those look really retro and down to earth!

    Nice system.

My impression, as with the company, is that they are a serious attempt at a quality L/S.

Hahaha, not at all mate. Geoff has a cunning plan which should work. Time will tell. I'm confident though. Only trouble is I'm not sure it'll budge the Mission lol. Anyone interested in an Alphason should keep their eyes peeled.

    Just in case.

Those speakers look the nuts in your space too. Enjoy!

They look absolutely superb Ian - nice one!

I was looking at them wondering how they would sound compared to my Tannoys - I think they are a fairly similar size speaker.

How is the Wagner sounding - plenty of scale and oomph??
