    Hello Dee. Welcome to AOS.

If you have any plans for your Hi-Fi we'd like to hear what you have in mind.

Vintage Tannoys are very popular here, so you'll be in good company.

Take a look around the site, there's lots going on and feel free to join in the chat.

    Enjoy the forum,
    Geoff.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

Welcome to AoS Dee. We're virtually neighbours, I'm down the road in Walthamstow! Some nice vintage things you have there, especially the Thorens and the Denon, but I'm slightly biased there! As Geoff said there's lots going on, and its a very friendly and knowledgeable crowd.

    Cheers

    Loz

I believe the Devons and Cheviots share the same Hpd driver and crossover,so I would be interested
in either a pair of Cheviot cabinets (bare) or an introduction to somebody who could construct a pair for
me.My drivers have been reconed and had the surrounds replaced by Lockwoods

Your 12" HPD drivers and crossovers will fit straight into the Cheviot Mk.I cabinets. The earlier Chatsworth and 12" Lancaster cabinets can also be used with some very minor adaptation.

If you want a custom build, I'd suggest speaking to Paul Coupe at RFC (Reference Fidelity Components), who is a Tannoy specialist:

You could also put a 'wanted' ad in our Private Exhibitions section. You may get lucky.

Paul is a nice chap and well liked here. I'm sure he can assist. If you look through his website and the posts on his trade thread here, you will get an idea of the work he undertakes. http://theartofsound.net/forum/forum...ity-Components

Hi all ... I've been very lucky and managed to obtain a pair of empty Tannoy Cheviot cabinets from " mainly tannoy" on flea bay.He described them honestly as ...tatty..But on collection they were in pretty good condition and after some cleaning and tlc look great.Have swapped the driver ,crossover and speaker terminal from one of my Devons and the result is a much deeper bass and clearer soundstage.
I have a Yamaha Cr2020 receiver and would appreciate suggestions about speaker wires that won't accentuate the brightness of my system
