Different if you could make one for half the price of Mark's cable, which was as good...

Unless Rob is up for a DIY project, and has expert soldering skills, I'd caution against him making his own mains cable, as it just won't be as good or as well-finished as Mark's.

I could do all that and some but with Marks option there's no need to do anything.

Ha - well, I've experienced how, shall we say, 'less than expert' soldering skills (resulting in poor contact integrity on terminals) have seriously impacted on the performance and safety of DIY mains leads and distribution blocks!

Aside from that, we're talking about £65, not £650 (the cost of some 'foo' items), so for what Rob's spent, it's simply not worth the hassle of building one yourself, when you can relax instead knowing that you own a beautifully made product, which is also guaranteed.

Both perfectly acceptable and valid points Gents but last comment was meant as a gentle bit of leg pulling.

At the price (or rather £65), I'd defo recommend Mark's superb DSP 2.5: https://markgrant.co.uk/mains-power/...wer-cable.html

I've used that with great success. It's flexible, beautifully constructed with high-quality UK-sourced parts, and does the biz, performance wise. Plus, Mark's a great guy to deal with. Easy choice

    Marco.
Forgot to say, another great recommendation Marco.
Beautifully constructed indeed, looks and feels quality.

Not used it yet though as my system is still not up but the review probably tells me all I need to know I'd imagine

I'll be upgrading the plug and the fuse (not that I need to as the stock plug and gold plated Bussman fuse are very nice) to match the rest of my system which is Missing Link silver plated plugs and Hi-Fi Tuning gold plated silver ceramic fuses .
