This is what I used on the Tosh when I fitted the jelco SA 750db.
    Worked very well.

Ive had a chat with J7 and I am thinking the way forward is to have the 5 pin DIN installed (£35) and getting some of J7's super oxygen free cable (silver/copper hybrid) too at a later date.

    Any opinions?

Go for an IKEDA rewire and silver tags if you can afford it. Having a 5 pin din plug is very good if you want to try new tonearm cables, otherwise you can foresake the 5 din plug (and another component in the signal path) and have a complete run of IKEDA silver into some yummy silver RCA plugs.

Geoff is currently making me a 6mm plate so if I cant achieve VTA at that height, I'll look at getting a thinner one. 😁👍

Alphasons seems to always need an additional collar making, speedy steve made mine.

I wish I had the money to go the IKEDA but its not really an option.

Was your collar off speedy steve thinner than the stock version?

Ah, pants. I'll see what the cable change reveals then I'll charter the path.

I think if your going to use J7's services you might as well go the "Whole Hog" and get what you can afford. The collar from Speedy Steve was originally made to the exact same specs as the Alphason original but I made my own collar from EVA to increase the Alphason's VTA range. I use my Alphason on a very heavily modded Lenco.
