as i said, i dont see gerrard going, especially now. he will want to see the bank balance and we dont have one. forget this celtic obsession and just have a good young team and decent manager. alas the fans etc wont accept it and that is the clubs downfall.

Indeed, so the appointment of Gerrard and a (substantial) financial influx from a new or existing investor, in order to facilitate a challenge to Celtic, would have to go hand in hand. Gerrard is currently at Ibrox having talks with the board, with a view to becoming the new manager, and that simply wouldn't happen if the necessary money wasn't there.

Therefore, I expect Gerrard to be announced as the new Rangers manger very soon - and good luck to him. He'll need it, because he'll be taking on the job with Rangers at an all-time low, both on the field and off it...

i was born and bred in this country and supported rangers for 50 odd years. worked with and in glasgow, and some of my best friends were wrapped up in it more than me, but i still dont know how it all works. never will, and glad of it too.
its a ancient foulness that has stuck to the west of scotland mostly and wont go away.

He's defo a Celtic fan, mate. Read the article all the way through, and you see what Andy Lynch says. It's something I've known for a while, since there were rumours when Rodgers became manager that he wanted to bring Gerrard up to play for Celtic.

Gerrard's allegiances to Celtic mean nowt though, as it didn't stop two of the most famous Rangers supporters/protestants being huge successes at Celtic, as both managers and players respectively, in Jock Stein and Kenny Dalglish!

True professionals only care about winning and doing their best in the role they've been employed to perform, and that'll also apply to Gerrard, if he becomes Rangers manager.
