    I'm Rich.

Default I officially know I'm old now.

I went shopping in Cardiff yesterday with my other half, buying pressies for her son, we bought him headphones and records. Despite a good wander round HMV and headphone retailers, all I came home with for myself was a nose and ear hair trimmer.

That's a sign of old age right?

Yeah. You're an old git now Rich!

If you don't already, you'll end up needing spectacles for reading and driving. And eventually, you'll actually need them to find your glasses.

According to Billy Connolly the sign of getting old is when you realise that you vocalise when getting up or sitting down.

For me that happened in my late thirties. However when there becomes a pressing need for electronic hair removal equipment you realise that you are actually already a good way into the process.

Unfortunately I do that too, just a little 'ooh' when I stand up, accompanied by about a dozen joints clicking.

I know getting old is inevitable, but I'm only bloody 47!

Lol... Sorry to hear that, mate!

What is this - the moaning old duffers thread?

I'm 52, in August, and thankfully suffer from none of the conditions mentioned here; in fact I genuinely feel as good now as I did when I was 35! Especially now that I've lost weight and become fitter, from power-walking for six miles every day and also using an exercise bike

I don't need to wear glasses yet either (few grey hairs) and take no pills for anything. The only evidence so far of me growing old is a receding hairline! And that I can handle...

    As you were, granddads!

    Marco.
