i unplugged my sony 700es amp today to give the denon amp a try and when plugged back in the sonys protection circuit kicked in,the led normally goes from red to green when everything's ok,mine stayed on red so somethings a miss, the amp still works ok but im not taking any chances so off to tim the repair wizard for a check up.

it feels like loosing an arm already!

Oh dear. Hope it's not too expensive to sort Jamie. (I know how much you need that speaker money )

My amp is also unwell and in the hospital at the moment. Must be some bug going about .
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

Glad you have it sorted Jamie. Do you mind if I ask who Tim the repair Wizard is? I'm moving to the South Coast at some point this summer when this protracted house purchase gets completed and of course it's always great to have a Tim the repair Wizard somewhere close by!

    Cheers

I don't know, perhaps I'm being overly sensitive here. I really don't mind being told that I'm not able to be given a contact for repairs etc. But for my post to be ignored comes across as a little rude. But please correct me if I'm wrong
