    Default SPEAKER CABLE recommendations pls

I've now ordered Van damm shotgun hifi 6mm .

I've been using QED silver anniversary for about 20 years and on Sunday I decided I'd try some real thick red Cambridge audio bi-wire cable I was given with some speakers a few years back and I'm sure I noticed an improvement so I'm now thinking "try something better "
Now it could be the ole placebo effect!! After all shouldn't the qed better the Cambridge audio ??
Any suggestions? Budget would be about £60-80 for 2x 2.5m lengths.

It won't be a placebo effect. QED Silver Anniversary is horrible. Certainly the worst sounding speaker cable I've tried in my system. I'd say virtually anything else is likely to give you an improvement. Avoiding anything with silver plated copper cores is probably a good idea.

Something like this may suit: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Van-Damme-...oAAOSwol5Yz~q7
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

Up to you, but I wouldn't give the QED houseroom.

A bit surprised that people can have such different experiences with the same cable. I was thinking of picking up some 2nd hand QED SA to try, mainly because it is cheap and back in the day I seem to recall it was an "award winner", whatever that means.

Why do you say silver plated copper is best avoided?

Quite agree but we all have our own views.

I personally use QED X-tube 400 with airlock banana plugs (bi-wired)

I would also recommend Van Damm "Shotgun" 6mm.

At the end of the day, it's what your budget can stand and what sounds good in your system.

Can't see what wrong with Silver Plated copper.

Has the "Muscles from Brussels" stopped inflicting those horrible films on us and got into hifi then?
