Good night for you Marco. I saw that the tories failed in one of there target seats, Wrexham ? . Though its interesting to note that the tory share
    of the vote nationally
was similar to that of one of Blairs wins and also Thatcher s. They failed to get a majority because were back to 2 party politics
    the scribes say. best wishes

Cheers, mate. Perhaps our two votes made all the difference [only kidding]?

In Wales (where people have sense, lol), in terms of seats won, Labour HORSED the Tories 28 to 8.

Shame the same didn't happen in the rest of the country... BUT the fact is that May's gamble has spectacularly backfired, and the Tories have lost their majority. It's been a disastrous election for May the witch, which I'm absolutely delighted about!

Yup, largely because of Ruth Davidson's success in Scotland, who IMO is a far more capable, charismatic and credible politician than May [which is why she ousted 'big hitters' in Scotland, such Alex Salmond and Angus Robertson, from the SNP], and who, since we're unfortunately still going to have a Tory PM, should replace May, although sadly that's unlikely to happen.

Yes, Wrexham has remained Labour, which is good, but let's remember that I'm first and foremost a fan of Corbyn himself (and HIS policies) than necessarily Labour as a party. If they ever put another balloon, such as Miliband was, in charge in future, I'd no sooner vote Labour next time than Tory!!

Don't really care too much about that, Neil. As they say: 'Che sara, sara'. Somehow we'll survive, and I suspect in due course will prosper.

At the moment, for me, it's all about GETTING IT RIGHT UP May, the Tories and the establishment, all of whom will be crying in their soup this morning at what could've been, if May had just stayed put where she was. So much for her battle cry of creating a "strong and stable" government...

Haha, what a joke. She's achieved the precise OPPOSITE!

The fact is, even though the Tories have 'won', May's disastrous election campaign [that's the result you get when you're fundamentally NOT a 'people person'], which in the process allowed the electorate to get to know *her* better, has simply served to showcase her ineptitude and shown her up for what she is: cold, clueless and CATASTROPHIC for the country.

It really is a strange system, isn't it? Just saw some figures flash on the tv for Wales, showing (something like) 770,000 votes for Labour and 580,000 votes for the tories, which apparently translates to 28 seats vs 8

In the UK in general, it seems to me that many UKIP voters have returned back to the tories, and that the first-time voters (who were massively under-represented in the Brexit referendum) have finally turned out for Corbyn.

Could not believe the exit poll last night but woke up to a great morning. Disaster for May and a great result for Corbyn. This was better than anything I could imagine having watched the campaign closely I can only say that not only did May bring this on herself, this was the worst run election campaign run by the tories in living history.

May did the unimaginable, she inflicted more damage on the Conservative party than Tony Blair did when he was leader.

Corbyn deserves all the plaudits he may get as he is a decent chap who is comfortable with the electorate and ran a well thought out campaign. Ok he did not win but he has increased his strength and stopped May dead in her tracks, let's hope she now goes quickly.

I could not imagine anyone worse than May running this country who arrogantly took the public for granted for her own selfish gain. Such a joy to see it go so horribly wrong for her.

She started out talking about the Labour Party being the party of chaos and has achieved far more chaos herself and now makes Brexit at least a little more likely to be a more negotiated affair with a more conciliatory outcome, however the storm clouds are already there with the possibility of her going and another leadership campaign and then another election. What a f&&iG mess and she has already started the clock ticking.

By the time we actually get to negotiate the alarm bell may be ringing. She could have delayed article 50 until after the election but no her party of chaos has with this election screwed up that decision with the outcome of this election.

Do people in this country now think the Conservative party can be trusted not only to run this country but negotiate for us in Brexit which was also something that did not need to happen but was also foisted on the people by Cameron, yes another Conservative disaster.

If this campaign election does not ring alarm bells with the public regarding the Conservatives and Brexit then we will be sleep walking over a cliff!

Don't forget the significance of the youth vote for Labour, Peter, which was considerable, who turned out in greater number than ever, and who aside from being seduced by the prospect of the abolition of tuition fees, could clearly see through the lies and insincerity of the Tories, and above all the insidious effect of their policies on ordinary working people.

It's therefore heartening, as long as Labour have Corbyn as leader, or someone like him with the same political outlook, that when the old fuddy-duddies, who largely make up the Tory vote, and whose voting habits are influenced so much by baggage that they carry from the past, are no longer of this earth, that the future of the country will be in the hands of people who can cut through the bullshit of the Tory brainwash and see the reality!

Let's hope that's the case, anyway... As for the here and now, with all the current uncertainty there is, I can see a second election taking place, sooner rather than later - and if it does - this time, with the momentum that they have behind them now, a majority win for Labour.

And that will almost certainly happen if May digs her disgusting [Beverley Feldmen designer heels] in, and stays on as PM!

The tories are changing their name to the Casino party, great result so many have seen through the media lies and an absolute car crash of a tory campaign and she's stubbornly clinging on.
