Had to ponder over the Issac Hayes or 'You've Got The Funk'. The first five are non-negotiable though. Now I realise I missed out 'Are You Experienced?' Bollocks.

This is a tricky one to answer and my choices might be different tomorrow.

    1) 'Deja Vu' Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young (iconic and glorious album)

    2) 'Ten New Songs' Leonard Cohen (I don't understand a word he says, but it's wonderful)

    3) 'Alladin Sane' David Bowie (Can't go without 'Drive in Saturday')

    4) 'Walls and Bridges' John Lennon (A real favourite)

    5) 'Good News From The Next World' Simple Minds (Great rock, not a bad track on it)

    6) 'Aerial' Kate Bush (Beautiful content)

    7) 'Overnite Sensation' Frank Zappa (The master at work)

    8) 'One Size Fits All' Frank Zappa (The master at work again)

    9) 'Are You Shpongled?' Shpongle (Nothing else is quite like it)

    10) 'Gung Ho' Patti Smith (The greatest female rocker, you can't expect me to go without 'Lo and Beholden' or 'Persuasion', try this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHFUAmZ51_Q and turn the wick up)

It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

Great minds must think alike About 60% of the albums that nearly made it on my list..... and well could do if I was asked again tomorrow, feature amongst other peoples lists! Or maybe we all have a "boring and predictable" similar taste and are in the same age bracket in the main!?

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

Or the really good stuff transcends what is otherwise involuntary and pedestrian musical taste?

Been pretty diverse so far. Surprised that Geoff is so into Zappa.
