Jim Hacker on being interviewed by the press:

'If you have nothing to say, say nothing. Better still, have something to say, and say it, no matter what they ask. Pay no attention to the question, just make your own statement. Then, if they ask the question again, say ''That's not the question'' or ''I think the real question is...'' and then you make another statement of your own.'

Yeah, realistic for sure. I hate squirming, evasive politicians. Most seem like that. Chosen for their 'abilities' to pull the wool over people's eyes no doubt.

You don't get that far up the pole by being honest and open with everyone.

May evaded and twisted the questions. Trust me, trust me - says the serpent....

Neill really laid into Corben who I think handled himself very well. In fact more like a prime minister than may - who sounded like a CEO on the defensive.

In my opinion this should be about policy and record, not personality. It isn't the States. The Tories are all about money and taking more from the poor - labour is about social justice unlike it's blairite past which was conservatism at heart.

    Just my opinion.

But personality comes into it. You might, for example, believe that Jeremy Corbyn is a genuinely nice, honest, well-intentioned bloke, but fear that, because of internal conflicts within Labour, he would not be able to put together a Cabinet of sufficient calibre to form an effective Government. The fact that Diane Abbott is Shadow Home Secretary gives some credence to such a fear.
