Default Vintage hifi original retail price source?

Is there a source for the original retail prices of our vintage equipment ?

    HiFi Year Book!

Is there a specific item you want the original price for Andrew?
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

Curious about the prices of all my gear mate .
What started this in my head was the fact that I'd read somewhere that my £15 Yamaha tuners ( T-700 )retail was £399 , surely not not ?? So it got me thinking that there must be a reference somewhere.
I guess you've answered that one

It wouldn't surprise me. Even more of an eye opener is what many ancient prices are converted to modern money!
The Tandberg receiver I have on in the background right now was I believe something like £375 in 1975!

According to the BOE inflation calculator £375 in '75 is £2886.78 now. That's not a budget receiver!
    Current Lash Up:

    TEAC VRDS 701T > Sony TAE1000ESD > Krell KSA50S > JM Labs Focal Electra 926.

I run a semi- professional Public Address system
One of THE BEST Mixing Desks you can buy is Allen & Heath.
The top ( analogue desk, of course ) was £420 in 1978.

You can buy a vastly superior Mixing Desk ( digital, of course) from A & H for approx. £1,320 in
    2017.

I'd take the 1978 analogue desk over the modern one all day long....
