Isn't the clear covered one called 'Hifi' as opposed to the Blue being the studio one?
And a few folk reckon it's better than the blue?

Personally I took Gazjams advice and bought some Talk Cable 3 which bettered the Blue that I had previously.

I like the Van Damme HiFi cables for a few reasons, minimum use of dielectric (for some reason haven't got on with thick PVC cables), spaced cables so low capacitance (good for my old Exposure amps) & do think that metal purity can have a part to play too, providing other components in the chain has the same attention played to metal purity & 'linear crystal' construction. YMMV though, in any case, it's not big differences.

I use 4mm Van Damme Tour Grade Black on the woofers of my speakers (Exposure, Linn K20, Naim NacA4 and A5 are all 4mm cables) and it works very well (though difficult to judge in isolation). I probably would have gone to 6mm but the 4mm only just fits the SpeakON connectors I use as it is. The 4mm Tour Black is already very chunky stuff too - not that hiding cables is an issue for me.

I'M just in the process of going from Van Damm 6mm to 3mm solid core silver in PTFE. I may even try Duelund silver in oil and cotton.
