    Default Duelund DCA16GA cable

    Hi All,

I ran across the below link recently and wanted to find out peoples view on it, and if anyone had any experience with it.

It is an interesting read, and if used as speaker cable would be about £80 for my system. would that be a worthwhile investment or is it just more cables which aren't necessary??

im curious as if run as speaker cable it would only be a small sized cable which is different to other discussions which suggest a large cable size would be better?

    HI Jonathan
I'm using the Duelled DCA16GA as speaker wire...
I have to say it's turned out to be a stone wall giant killer! What a great presentation it offers for no money (relative) £8.20 ex vat!!!
I took influence from Jeff Day, who writes wonderfully, and I have to say it really impressed and I am chuffed with it. I use it as advised with no plugs just straight to the speaker posts
as Tinned copper oxidises far less or slower than just copper (so i am told). The sound, well, all I can say is the tops are extended and detailed but not harsh, the mids have detail and beauty to hold you involved
and caress you and the bass is controlled and full with great timbre. I know it's all subjective, room & equipment dependent, but in my set up i am totally happy.

I also since have made up shielded, to illuminate hum, (due to using a 300B amp and SUTs) and unshielded interconnects (between Pre amp and Dac) using Duelled DCA20GA wire
and again what beautiful music this combination offers. This stuff for me is a complete No Brainer!

Hifi collective here in the UK are the distributors.

Give it a spin , you will not be disappointed

I am very interested by this stuff on the back of the write up, but im not sure if as mentioned the size is an issue. I currently use a meridian g57 which generates 200w into neat ultimatum mf7.
I ordered some of the dca20ga wire last week to make up some rca's also (probably unshielded) as a trial test. we shall see.

very good that you also have had success with these.

My experiments have led to rewiring an old pair of Celestion Ditton 15's internally, the speaker cable is Duelund CGA14 and the interconnects are the Belden IC's which Jeff recommends (which are actually Western Electric copies). So I have a system which is fully loomed. I even thought about making up a couple of power leads but haven't gone so far yet. All this is linked into a Quad 405-2 which gives a very 70's sounds. It's great fun and whilst it's not the best cable I've ever owned I can't complain for the sheer value for money or the fun I've had. Have a look here for the fun and games I've had.
