But wouldn't you consider this a conservational thing at the same time as bringing money to the area. Do people see beyond the headline 'man poses with dead tiger- horrific' ?

Never in a million years! It seems you're conservation opinions are as septic as your political ones.

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

I'd agree with you Grant if they are getting their kicks from murder it's in poor taste. But I'm smart enough to realise this is a media generalisation and idea, because what allows hunting to happen is the conservation side of things.

But I would personally find the idea of posing with a dead animal unpalatable, for me at least, because I don't understand the emotions around posing for a picture. But this doesn't mean they are not respectful of the animal and that the person killing an animal has a huge element of respect for killing that animal. You do when you kill an animal and I've seen this of all people I know who have hunted.

But I've shot foxes, rabbits and pidgeons to help control and I've eaten the rabbits and pidgeons ive shot. I just go clay shooting now. But comes with this is a feeling of responsibility and huge respect of the animal. People associate the idea the person is happy in these media photos, as taking joy of killing an animal. And if these people actually asked themselves the question, how does it assist the species in a positive way, they should have a different view regardless of how the photo appears and what one conjures up in emotions that the photo says.
