Hi Adam
Believe me, if you heard it, you would want it!
Not only does it sound amazing (highly subjective of course), but it measures spectacularly well too (highly objective).
All that for the price of a mid-range interconnect!! If such a player was made by Accuphase, Boulder, Burmester, etc. it would cost £1000's more.
I would love to put it up against a £5k turntable in my system. Sounds crazy? Bring one along and you would be in for a helluva shock.
If you are passing anytime soon, please drop in for a listen. It's not because I am trying to do a hard sell or convert any one. No, far from it; music/high end hifi lovers should listen to CD/SACD players like this to appreciate just how good these formats can be. It's a great big eye opener!
I suspect the Rega Isis (hmmmm, a name with a certain connotation these days ) is a great CD player but it possibly suffers for not having SACD playback, 'only' 2 DAC chips and a modest Sanyo based transport.
Regards
Steve
