    Default new turntable project

The advertising blurb for the Jelco 750d suggests that it uses the Linn geometry and can be slotted sraight into a Linn armboard
My new turntable came with a Linn armboard, so I thought would be 'easy'
However when I check the specs this does not seem to be the case.

Both have effective lengths of 229mm
BUT Linn has mounting distance of 211mm with 18mm overhang = 229
Jelco has mounting distance of 214mm with 15mm overhang = 229

So if i fit the arm into the Linn armboard, I can acheive the 15mm overhang required due to generous slots in headshell
BUT this reduces the effective length to 226mm --- 211mm mounting distance +15mm overhang = 226mm

    Thoughts please

I think a new armboard is in order????

Do it right Terry, if you take the short cut you'll always have that niggle at the back of your mind.

Yeah, I think where turntables are concerned, precision is the answer. Hope you get it sorted.
