Default [IC]: RTJ Phono equalisers - experimental resistance/capacitance sets

As a hi-fi reviewer I asked Roger Webb of RTJ to supply me with various resistive and capacitative loads to get the best measured and subjective sound from the variety of cartridges I was reviewing. Roger eventually produced two sets of loading plugs - one for resistance and once for capacitance - and I used these sets extensively when reviewing. My original two experimental sets of 6 phono equalisers each - three pairs for resistance and three pairs for capacitance - are up for sale. They can be stacked for intermediate loads. I would not look on these as a permanent listening solution but a way of establishing the correct loading. These might be more useful to a group of enthusiasts rather than an individual but they will go to 'the bay' on Sunday if no one here is interested. Boxed (one lid missing) with original instructions.

Sorry - I'm clearly not understanding the community vibe.

I've not been around hi-fi for years and have no clue about a price for these - they could be fit for the bin or priceless hens' teeth.

I naïvely thought that IC meant 'is anyone interested in buying these?'. I've an acute sense of fairness and it's equally offended if I say £100 and get the p**s ripped out of me or say £10 and the jackals descend. I might have said if there's a bunch of folks interested in sharing these you can have them for nothing. Suggest you delete the post or start a 'What's this worth?' - I suppose on AOS it would be 'Valuation' section.

Looking at the quality of.these and thinking of the price of Rothwell attenuators I don't think £100 is at all too much. An offer to donate them to a group is very generous, but if that happens I think they should not remain in semi permanent residence at any one person's house (or split permanently between 2 or 3) which would go against the spirit of the offer.

best just put a price and say or nearest offer... IE £75 ono or whatever. but a price has to go in. such are the rules. Would think they were worth a tenner a pair at least.

I used to have a set of those for use with a Shure V15 III. Can't remember exactly what I paid (around 1976/77), but it was something like £15 a pair.

Thanks Lawrence, Barry and Farflung for advice and contact. These are no longer available. How should one find out a price through the AOS community of not though the Classified section?
