    Default Wanted: Technics Sl-1200/1210

Wanting to get back into analogue and looking around, there seems to be very little to buy new on the market which is to taste.

Given this, i'd like to get myself another Technics turntable but the prices people are selling (even battered ones) for on ebay are obscene.

Does anyone out there have a turntable they are looking to move on? Please let me know what you've got and what you're after to sell.

    Many thanks, Dan.

I have a Technics 1210 mk5 arm available that would fit that nicely. Ok there are better arms out there but it would get you started.

Thanks for the reply. Bit rich for me given it has no arm though.

There was me thinking that with the power supply this was a reasonable price!

If my expectations are out of whack then fine, no need to try and be clever about it. Perhaps in need to readjust having been out of the game for so long. Just shocks me that the price of used technics turntables seem to have gone up so much since I last had one.

It's the only kit I own that has appreciated in value in the 10 years since buying it
Perhaps state your budget and see what gets offered... It won't be a 1210 unfortunately

Did you see the Pioneer deck on offer here recently?

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”
