    We have a winner!

Yip I always sit in the same seat position and always thought the sound was coming from just over my head height so I put a little spacer under the rear of the stand to tilt the speakers forward, ok it's not ideal as I only had one for each stand but it was just a quick test to see if the tweeter/ear height needed shifting.

Ok I know it's basic setup strategy to have the tweeters at the correct height but until you try it....

So I suppose ideally I need slightly shorter stands, or I need to find spikes to add to the stands and adjust them accordingly, I'm sure I have a set that came out of Mission floorstanders that I still have, so I might try those. Whether I can get the correct height without comprising the stability is another matter, especially with a Spaniel in the house that is prone to Zoomies !

    Well done Roy 😁

    Yep, I'm not surprised.
    Tweeter aiming is important.
My speakers have been slightly tilted forward since a month or so after I got them, about 7 years ago.
It dials the sound in just like doing that final slight adjustment on camera focus.

I used to use window wedges. You can buy then easy, and made of softish plastic. Slip 2 under each speaker at back between stand and speaker. Fixes the prob and as they ar wedged you can adjust the amount.

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”
