“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

So far, I have not come across any Pioneer equipment that was not good. I have a few of their amps, a tuner, cassette decks and a PL12D

    Oh dear Dan
I have a PL A35 , which is similar to some extent , same arm ,plinth , but much better anti skate on your arm . Its nice but could never get rid of a hum in it !!
How many amps and decks etc , come out of 'dry' lofts . Dryish but unheated also !
I only ride 'em, I don't know what makes 'em work

    Hi Anto

No not good my old mate shame was in excellent visual condition - but the thing is people store HI-FI for years and years not thinking what affect it can have when an enthusiast buys them then try to get them going and fails - the guy wasn't to keen on me calling him to say it was dead. During the nearly 12 years of doing this this is the only one that has done this to be honest. i unplugged it and took it straight outside scared me too on thinking it was possibly a cap blowing or something but the arm and plinths go for £60 and £30 respectively so stripped it down and kept a few parts....
