    Dan, that's a hell of a shame. The deck is a pretty simple one and the only components are a transformer, the synchronous motor and one capacitor. I'd put money on it that it was the cap that died, so probably a 20 minute repair and about £1 for parts!
    Engineers: fixing problems you didn't know you had in ways you don't understand.
