So far 12% say they never hear a difference. I mean I voted 'sometimes', but 'never'? Can't get my head round that.
Maybe they've just never bothered experimenting with cables. Just hooked the stuff together and left well alone, saving themselves £££s and a lot of grief in the process.

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

Well I'm totally sane.....apart from the bits when I go funny!
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

fascinating to see the poll . i see most think they do make a difference . if you did the same poll on some other forums it would be very different methinks ! . i do find they make a difference but not always

Yes, a subtle one, but still worthwhile for that extra 5% or whatever.

I find that cables make a significant difference to the sound of my system. Without them dynamics are severely curtailed and detail retrieval suffers badly!

    Seriously though,

if your poll is to reveal anything you need to look at rephrasing the question.

You should be asking how much of a diference cables make rather than whether they make a difference per se. I would suggest you offer four categorical responses such as:

    none
    noticeable but not significant
    significant and worthwhile
    major

I would be interested in learning the responses to this poll!
