I had two old ones and now ending with a 309 magnesium, perhaps over engineered at some point, but easy to set it up.
IMHO older ones need some tweaks to get the best of them, better bedplate, wiring...and perhaps headshell ;-)

I don't think it's all about sound with old products. 3012 has an iconic look and a very decent sound so why bothering with a last drop of forensics that may be missing
