    A picture of my diy stand made from oak worktop , I'm now making a wall shelf from the same to support the turntable phil.

    John, those speakers are mean, probably sounding better now as the amplification has changed since I heard them

    They look like MingDa monos. Are they? If so how do you rate them?

    Yes 805 mingda monos , they need to be on for a while to sound there best but once warm there great , I had a manley stingray before these which had a great midrange but I was always trying to get more sparkle at the top end , the ming da monos are more refined , more silence between passages and the top end is in another league , a big step up in sound quality for me . phil.
