It dissolves the plastic and allows it to rebond. There's no adhesive involved. Mating faces are best held together under light pressure for a while. I use either insulating tape or elastic bands. Apply the solvent several times to each face for most effective results. Once dry, the join can be rubbed down with ultra fine 'wet & dry' paper used wet, then polished out with Autosol for near invisible results. Might be an idea to have a practise run on a piece of scrap acrylic plastic.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!
