No worries, matey. There aren't many tweaks in relation to maintaining/increasing car engine performance I don't know about!

And Terracleaning is a no-brainer. You want to regain the use of as many of those horses as possible, produced by the Alfa's 2.2L engine, some of which, due to carbon deposits existing in key areas of the engine, will have been lost in those 9 years...

Once you've had it Terracleaned, there are a number of other things you can do, which will 'cheer things up' even more. Just let me know if you fancy it, and I'll provide the necessary details. I've 'been there and done that' with my car, so I know what works.

It's all about getting the most out of your car, and ensuring that it stays as good as it can be, for as long as possible

The Alfa has a new set of Pirelli P Zero 19's fitted, knew they were expensive but Zoinks!

Yours will likely not be quite as low-profile, probably 40s [my rears are 30s], and slightly narrower, so you're probably looking at more like £160 a pop, when they need replaced. Still, hardly pennies, though... However, NEVER skimp with tyres on a performance car!!

Anyway, until you get the engine Terracleaned, try and get a tankful of either Shell V-Power Nitro+ unleaded, or BP Ultimate in there, as the detergents in either will get to work loosening the current built-up 'soot', which will give you a better result with the Terra. V-Power has the highest octane content, so is arguably the best commercially available unleaded fuel you can buy.

Booked car in for this Friday afternoon.
Emptying the tank for Friday, will refill afterwards with a tank of the good stuff, see what I think of any difference.

Good news, mate. Are you staying to observe the process, as it can take up to an hour? That's what I did, and it's rather enlightening watching the accumulated 'crud', in the form of black soot, being pumped out the back of the exhaust....

Of course depending on how much 'crud' there was in the first place (accumulated largely as a result of the maintenance habits of the previous owner), will determine how much improvement you'll get. My guess, however, is that it'll be significant!
