    Default My Ram 400 stil sound great

    I have owned these for some time now and they still put a smile on my boat race every time I fire them up
    Donkeys years old now , Ram a long gone company built them in a joint affair with Falcon Acoustics ( Still trading )

    They do look dated , Do I care NO its the sound that counts


    Trying a CD ( compromised disc )
    Sony 770ES Amp
    Technics SL P1200B player

    Not familiar with those Al. The heads remind me of a pair of Kefs I once owned.

    Funny looking things, if you ask me. I bet they don't sound very good as they contain strange cheap drivers that no-one has ever heard of.

    I reckon you'd be better off getting rid of them, Al and, as I'm such a nice bloke, I'll drive to yours and take them away to the dump for you.

    The top parts remind me somewhat of KEF Maidstones... RAM are true classics, and rightly should sound fantastic. They don't make 'em like that anymore, that's for sure!

    Preamps: Heavily-modified Croft Charisma-X. LDR Stereo Coffee. Power Amps: Tube Distinctions Copper Amp fitted with Tungsol KT-150s. Quad 306.

    Cables & Sundries: Mark Grant HDX1 interconnects and digital coaxial cable, plus Mark Grant 6mm UP-LCOFC Van Damme speaker cable. MCRU 'Ultimate' mains leads. Lehmann clone headphone amp with vintage Koss PRO-4AAA headphones.

    Tube Distinctions digital noise filter. VPI HW16.5 record cleaning machine.

    Speakers: Tannoy 15MGs in Lockwood cabinets with modified crossovers. 1967 Celestion Ditton 15.

    WAF ( Wife Acceptance Factor ) is one of those difficult moments to face , and why the Man cave- a space of your own is so popular.
    Perhaps a few flowers might help, or her favorite CD playing. But at some point you need to make a stand. Best of Luck
