    Indeed, on all counts! That's why, from experience, I think my suggestion is better, and certainly more workable.

    Isn't the idea to show off your system ?
    One of the BIG rooms would easily accommodate 4 maybe 5 systems , that way each person can show his AOS system
    Splitting the time is easy can't see it being a pitta

    At the moment only Paul has shown any interest ,Time will tell

    Yes let's just see how things develop, and depending on how many folks are interested in taking part, we'll take it from there.

    One thing to bear in mind, in terms of your question, is if there is lots of interest in doing this, then more people will get to hear *some* part of their system, rather than none, if everyone only brings one or two bits, rather than their whole system, as there simply won't be space to demo, say, 30-odd different systems, all in the one room, but in the course of the day we could demo 30-odd different bits of kit in the one (main) system.

    Your never going to get thirty people. Maybe half a dozen tops. Get one of the big rooms and set up the systems all round like we do at NEBO/MiBO. It is never a problem there.

    Getting one of the decent ground floor rooms is paramount though. It won't work if you get stuck in one of the slave's quarters on the top floor.

    Yes, but the key difference there is that those are invite-only events, not public shows, and so we only have folks attending from AoS and a few other locals to consider, not potentially 100s of members of the general public too, flooding in, as is the case at Scalford, which is why floor space will be at a premium.

    Everyone will want one of those, though. And TBH, it's only fair that they should go to Wammers first before us. If this goes ahead, we'll probably just need to take whatever room we get.

    Unlike a NEBO meet, you are getting an ever changing audience and many will be disappointed, as sods law will inevitably mean the one bit of kit they wanted to hear, has had its slot and been and gone. This happens on two way room shares and would be more of a problem with many exhibitors.

    A single fixed system has the limitation of the number of people that can join in. If a large room could be reserved then 3 or 4 set ups shown together and alternating might be the best solution to get more people involved, as they don't have to be single owner systems. With a bit of flexibility to change the running order if the visitors wanted to hear one set up in particular, this might work.

    The type of display is not an easy thing to agree on.

    Good point. However, it could be solved by (approximately) timed demos, advertised on the show literature, so for example if folks want to hear, say, a pair of your speakers, and those are due to be demo'd at 2pm, then it's up to them to be there to hear it

    That would of course involve some organisation and diligence from those showing their kit, with respect to timekeeping. It all depends on how organised or 'organic'/spontaneous you want these things to be.

    Its doable, but three systems max. Each sits on one stand, has its own cables, mains distribution block and speakers. Switching then is just a case of turning the volume down on one up on another. Even the biggest room will only really comfortably permit that.

    I know this because I have been part of an exhibition team at a number of commercial shows over the years. You can do it at both ends of a room, chairs facing one way and the other but this gets messy.

    Trust me three max and its a doable proposition.

    I wouldn't want to lug my complete set up to Scalford again, I am happy to bring my Denon DP80 with two spare removeable head shells so there could be a choice of three carts. My Stax arm is very versatile with regard to compliance of different carts. My weapon of choice is a Shure Ultra 500 with Martin Bastin body, so only requires an mm stage. Anyone else could bring their cart and step up or mc stage. It's early days so let's not throw the teddy in the corner just yet. There's almost a year to go and I may have some interesting speakers by then but happy to bring just the Denon. I did a similar thing a few years back when I took my 401 to Nick and Stuart's room and Jerry said the 401 stole the show.
