Does anyone have experience of this arm?, my S2 won't be back for some time so thought I might give an S3 a go......or should I just be patient.

Depends on your cartridge. If it's a 70s/80s high compliance cartridge tracking a 1-1.25g, then the S3 is a good match. If you're using it with a medium to low compliance cartridge (as most modern ones are), the don't bother.
