Another amp to consider Oliver is Croft. They have a long heritage and there are a lot out there which tend to come up for sale at bargain prices. If you would like to hear what Croft valve amps sound like you are welcome to pop over and listen. I am only in Stourbridge so just round the corner.

    Hi Jimbo,

I have looked into croft amps too. Thanks for the offer ! I'll have to have a think of what's best to do as the budget isnt huge and as always im selling first to buy so want to make sure I get it right. Or at least not lose money if I get it wrong !!

    I'll let you know 😀

110v/220v switchable at the power supply. Not ideal but can get around that.

Its available to me for £700. I can hear it working but cant actually have a good sit down with it. Its in scotland currently and the guy has offered to bring it to the midlands when he visits his mother next month.

I find myself at a crossroads over amplifiers. Alans gear is truly beautiful to listen to and yes I could probably try and save and get some but then the journey would be over. Anything that could rival the Firebottle range would be so out of my league its not even funny. I could possible get monoblocks but nothing else. No KIN etc so at this point do I give a Valve amp a run for a while and see how I get on ?

Ive been looking at the MingDa stuff for a while and always fancied one. This looks to be a bargain, which I like.

Alan is bringing his Firebottle gear over again on Monday and a side by side comparison would be great but it won't happen. I adore Alans amps and phono stages and he knows this.

Truth is its in my affordable
