Default Cannot hear radio Czech flac streams

    Hello,

Since the 20th of this month I am unable to listen to http://radio.cesnet.cz:8000/cro-d-dur.flac streams any longer. The streams seem to reach the computer at their normal average rate of 100KB (800kbit/s) but there is no sound.

Has anybody experienced same? I use vlc to listen and record. The new flac Absolute radio is ok most of the time, it is on trial they say, works very well when streaming at an average of 150KB. Hence there is no problem with my equipment.

    Regards,

    borgibo

I have not been able to play the D-Dur FLAC stream recently.

I thought it could be my system, but clearly not. I cannot play the stream with either VLC or Foobar.

    Could it have been discontinued?

The Maxi-OGG stream at 256kb/s is fine.

Tried to play the cesky FLAC stream in Linux, but no sound.

    Code:
     mplayer -ao alsa:device=hw=1.0 -playlist http://radio.cesnet.cz:8000/cro-d-dur.flac
    Resolving radio.cesnet.cz for AF_INET6...
    Couldn't resolve name for AF_INET6: radio.cesnet.cz

    Name : Cesky rozhlas D-dur
    Genre : classical
    Website: http://www.rozhlas.cz
    Public : no
    Bitrate: 128kbit/s
Cache size set to 320 KBytes
The stream is found and is being downloaded but nothing is audible.

As Brian said, the OGG stream is OK.

This is way to low to be FLAC, looks like MP3

If Tony Lauck is right, the experiment is ended, time to send an Email to this radio station and ask them to continue.

I did just that on 26/7. Emailed d-dur@rozhlas.cz to ask status of their experimental FLAC stream, but I never received a reply. May be someone else will have better luck.
