Default Hiraga Class A & Isolda question

So I've just bought the hiraga l'audiophile class A amp from Jake and should receive it next week but I have question about compatibility with my isolda spreaker cables.

I bought the amp to do summer duty here in Spain when it's too hot to run the 845 amps. But I know that some amps have a problem with the highly capacitive load presented by the Isolda cables and some older amps such as naim have even blown up.

So does anyone know if the hiraga might not be a good mix with the cables....

I will be shocked if anyone can answer your post. Hiraga designs are rare, very rare in the UK. Most folks will have heard of him, some may have once caught sight of a design but very few will have lived with one. In Europe your chances are better, but in the UK, anyone who owns one is a very lucky individual.

I personally would love to hear a Lectron JH50, and owning one would be a dream, a fantasy.

    Good luck in your OP.

To be honest I don't think I'll risk it with the isoldas - to scared it will go up in a puff of smoke.

I think I have the circuit diagram for the Hiraga class A amp. If I can lay my hands on it (may take some time, as since following my fiancé's instructions, all paperwork connected with audio and hi-fi, has been boxed up and put away), I'll scan it and put in up here. I'm not knowledgable enough to comment if the circuit is stable into capacitive loads, but I'm sure someone like Alan (Firebottle), or Jez (Arkless) could advise.

Yup, will email him but not sure he'll like the insinuation that his baby can destroy amps!

That last link was very interesting. The signal with the isolda is basically exactly the same at the loudspeaker terminals as at the amplifier terminals - just that 2800pf a metre of capacitance to bugger perfection up then then!

he must be aware of the discussion though , he attends every hifi show for many years. I am sure you are not the first one to ask . I showed me his new speaker cable recently at the Bristol show .
