“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

Yep. I'd take the drivers and all other contents out and store them somewhere warm and dry until we get some warm days in May, then keep them outside under cover for a while. The pong would go.

I would be wary of mixing chemicals. The bleach may counter the anti bacterial properties of the mould remover or worse! Give it time and plenty of air!

Try blowing a hair dryer on warm into the boxes for a while every now and then. I reckon that'll help. Don't get them silly hot though.

    Hi,

During the 15 years of doing this i have never encountered this problem before its strange i would like to think from the house they came from that they should of been well stored , cared for i dont know. I really want to keep hold of them to use them in a put together system as i have a soft spot for older bowers hence the DM2's in the lounge. I will work my magic with them - tried selling them for £20 and NO one i repeat NO one wanted them its sad but not im gonna keep hold of them - Thanks for the help and grant also

I find stuff like that all the time.

Wipe down anything that is safe to get damp with Simple Green, and then put them in an enclosed area and gas it with Lysol a couple of times a day. I usually do it in my storage closet because the walls and floor are concrete.

It will kill anything that's growing on them and get rid of most if not all of the odor. If there's any odor left after a few days it usually just has to air itself out.

It works on stuff that smells like smoke too.
