Default Garrard 401 eddy wheel advice

I've recently acquired (yesterday) a Garrard 401. It's in first class condition in a lovely plinth but has arrived with a problem

The 'eddy wheel' (used in conjunction with a magnet for speed adjustment) is scraping the top of the motor & I need to know what adjustments I can make to remedy this please.

It literally just needs to be lifted a tiny amount, there are grub screws but I don't want to start loosening things when I don't actually know what I'm doing.

Thanks in advance for any input.

I think you're talking about the intermediate wheel, but I attached the whole service manual.

Yes, just slacken the grub screws and lift it a little, you won't hurt anything doing this. By adjusting this, you can set where the pitch controller knob sits - i.e. adjust until the platter is running at correct speed with the knob set at or near the centre of it's adjustment range.

BTW, make sure the transit bolts have been slackened.
