    I'm Philip.

    Default Hello

Hello, I've just registered on this forum, attracted by discussions on home-made interconnects, as I'm always trying to get the most out of my system without spending too much!

I'm currently using a Cambridge Stream Magic through a Leema Pulse amplifier and Leema Xone speakers. I have a Rega Planar 3 with Ortofon Blue but can't often be bothered to use it! I listen to radio (Radio 3 HD, Linn Classical, Classic FM) or to CDs ripped to my NAS, mainly classical.

I am an amateur musician and play the trumpet in a local wind orchestra (wide variety of music), but attempts to play music at a realistic level in my living room are strongly opposed by my family!

Welcome Philip. Nice intro, and as much as I like a trumpet, it can go through you a bit in a small space. My Father in law was a top cornet player in his day. But I like it... Louis armstrong rocks

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

    Hi Philip. Welcome to AOS.

If you want to discuss cable making, we have many members interested in this, just find an appropriate section and ask some questions.

If you have any further plans for your Hi-Fi, we'd like to hear about them.

There's a lot going on here, so take a look around and join in.

    Enjoy the forum,
    Geoff.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!
