PVA is not suitable. It goes hard. The idea of the doping is to provide a damping layer to the rather 'lively' Bextrene cone.

Use Aleene's Original Tacky Glue, thinned very slightly with water. It retains a rubbery, very slightly tacky character once dry, similar to the original Plasticote. It's what I use for treating cones, surrounds and for general speaker repairs. I used it to replace my Tannoy surrounds.

Wonderful Geoff...I've got that very glue saved in my ebay watch page....So I can use it to adhere the new suspension to the baskets...and to dampen the cones too....excellent....cheerz Geoff...Al...
