    Default Good morning everyone

Newbie here getting back in to HiFi again after an absence of nearly 30 years. I have dug out my old Thorens turntable and managed to buy some vintage QUAD gear classic 34/405/FM4 setup to go with it and a pair of Spendor S3/5r speakers absolute bliss..... Recently bought a second hand Pro-Ject DS net streamer.

Musical tastes are hugely diverse, this morning I listened to the latest Madness album followed by Lou Reed then Rag 'n' Bone Man so anything really..... still have a soft spot for the mighty Zeppelin and Pink Floyd..

Bound to ask some really stupid questions to be gentle with me.

    Cheers,

    Robin

Welcome Robin. Lots of users of both Quad and Thorens, so plenty help available if needed.
    Regards,

I've said it before and I'll say it again: democracy simply-doesn't-work

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

Hi Robin, welcome to the forum.

Lots of love for the old QUAD gear here, Spendor too. And Floyd, so you should probably fit in well

    Hi Robin. Welcome to AOS.

Bit of a classic selection of equipment you've put together there.

Tell us if you have any further plans for your system.

There loads going on here, so feel free to join in the chat.

    Enjoy the forum,
    Geoff.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!
