Default Advice sought on supporting feet for a turntable and plinth

    Advice sought on sorbothane feet

I have just bought a new plinth which will allow me to use two arms (one 9” and one 12”) with my Thorens TD124/II turntable.

The plinth needs supporting feet and I was thinking of using sorbothane feet, either these:

    Deflex Audio Foculpods

    or these hemispherical feet:

Total weight to be supported is 21.5 Kg.

Does anyone have any advice, or alternative suggestions? I’m aware of other support mechanisms, such as cones in cups and opposing magnet devices, but I would prefer something that won’t separate and fall apart when the assembly is lifted and moved.

    Thanks
    Barry

I use those on my TD160 Barry. I know some folks don't rate them, but I've found them to very effective in keeping things steady and they stay firmly attached to the plinth base whenever I need to move the turntable. Hope that helps.

Which ones Loz - the first or second type mentioned? Did you 'glue' the feet to your plinth, and if so what did you use?

    Thanks

got quite a few sets of the second ones. They work fine, and if you put the flat bit to the equ it will stick pretty well via pressure. Think the other ones are really just a fancy version but probably just about as effective.

The second ones i believe. No glue needed. Once you have them in place they stay in place. As Grant said really.
Flat side against the plinth base.

    Cheers

Might add I usually fit them the other way so the feet stick to the table.
