For what its worth, I have had dealings with Mark in the past (a pair of rather nice AN-e spe) and can confirm he is a totally trustworthy bloke. And I completely understand his reticence about postage, after recently taking delivery from UPS a pair of Yamaha NS speakers that appeared to have gone 10 rounds with Mike Tyson yes they were insured but its hassle you really don't need. Good luck with the sale Mark the amp is worth every penny.

but the price that this very nice amp is offered for, is not that far from what it probably would be possiple to buy from a dealer as a new amp, many dealers offer a large discount or take other gear in as a part of the trade.
Based on that and on my own experience trading secondhand gear, i think that the price of used gear has to be at 50% or even lower if one wants to sell it on the different secondhand sites.
i dont Think that it is what it should cost, in a perfect reasonable world, but my experience tells me that it mostly has to be offered at around that price level to get sold.
Inclined to agree with this. I wouldn't want to be an AN dealer, the deals PQ does when selling direct. List price is not that relevant.

I was probably the person being referred to. Just sold my valve amps (elsewhere). Immaculate, UK top brand, rebuilt as new. “List” price is over 6k, could get new for 5, I advertised at 2.8 and sold at 2.1. Took 9 months. That may give you an indication of the market for expensive valve amps. Take an ultra popular brand like Harbeth, I sold SHL5+ for 80% of what I paid new, partly as I sold to the USA where they are more expensive, but would have got at least 70% in the UK. It’s not AOS’s fault, I just think there is no real market for some esoteric stuff.

Thanks again Marco. Amp and fascia are perfect - just reflections on the fascia. At £2k, this beauty is in Harrogate. 62.
