Yes, I'm actually going to make it to the end this year.

Couldn't believe it went into overtime. Like it isn't a long enough game already. Was good though.

Unbelievably inept play-calling by the Falcons.

5 minutes to go, and the Falcons are leading by 8 points on the Patriots 22 yard line. Within 3 point (37 yard) field goal range.

    Which would ice the game.

Because even Tom Brady can't score two touchdowns in 5 minutes. And NE would have burned their time-outs trying to buy time.

All you do is hand it to the running back for a quick harmless gain or loss of two yards, and then take the 3 points. But, NO! They go for the pass and meaningless touchdown, THEN QB Mattie Ryan gets sacked and they lose 20 yards.

I'm sure this Falcons team will come back next year, because they are very good indeed. But I was staggered by the Coach's incompetence in a simple situation.

I lived within spitting distance of the Pats' stadium at Foxboro for quite a few years. They were decidedly average, if not hopeless, in those days, not winning any silverware at all. I left, and they started winning Divisional and Conference championships by the truck-load .

Anyway, I agree totally with Steve's analysis. Should have been pretty basic stuff for the Falcons to see it home tbh.
