Default Edinburgh and Glasgow record shops - What's yer favourites?

    Morning all

We are in Edinburgh and Glasgow this weekend. Any good record shop recommendations from the Scottish mafia?

    Cheers

Bit out of date - possibly - but this is what I thought back in 2010, 2011, and in 2012. I suppose its possible some of these shops might not be there now.

Just checking back to say thanks to Gary and Neil for the info.

Didn't get to see any stores in Glasgow at all sadly. Absolutely loved Glasgow though. What a cool city. Edinburgh was great too but Glasgow edges it. Got to go to Unknown Pleasures and Vinyl Villains in Edinburgh. Just not enough time. Unknown Pleasures despite having a pretty good selection was way overpriced in my opinion. Maybe its location on The Royal Mile plays a part in that. Didn't buy anything there. Vinyl Villains being bigger had much more stock and arguably better stock and a better price. However it was one of those days when I just couldn't find anything I fancied at all so came away empty handed.

Made up for it later that day by seeing A Certain Ratio at a small venue called Stereo in Glasgow. Looking forward to going back in March or April.

    Thanks again

    Loz

I could recommend Backbeat records on East Crosscauseway EH8 9HE.
Dougie has some great stuff, i recently got Bruce Springsteen Nebraska on vinyl from there.
He is a Blues and Jazz specialist but has tons of stuff for a small shop.
Just around the corner is the record shack.
