Default Yamaha PF-800 turntable - Microphonic noise on left tube on tonearm

    Hi!

Does anyone have a clue on this?.....my Brother has bought a beautiful Yamaha PF-800 turntable.

When volume set high, there is microphonic noise coming from the left tube of the tonearm....right tube is however completely silent.
The noise can be amplified by touching the left tube.
Pickup change (Ortofon OM30) and a brand new headshell does not remove the noise and the turntables phono connectors and the female connectors on the Tandberg 3012A amp are perfectly ok.

I would really like to know if this is known behaviour for this rather special tonearm...or if one other happy owner could check his PF-800/PF-1000 if its a common
    noise.
Could I maybe suspect a bad soldering of the "L" side wiring from tonearm to the pcb inside the turntable?

Thanks in advance for any response!

    Jesper

Is it really a microphonic noise? Or is it just a noise?
I'm asking for clarification because far too often people come on forums saying they have a "microphonic noise", or "feedback" or "a ground loop" and it's actually something completely different. The classic one is "static". What does static electricity sound like?
    Anyway, rant over.
Giving as much detail as possible will help forum members to identify the problem.

Never used a twin tonearm so dont know if there is any difference to others. Obviously you need to check the cables and see if there is any rf getting into them. Its probably the main cause. Can come from other cables or transformers of other bits of kit. Also wifi equipment etc.

A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

I would start with a arm rewire , Even if it not that its due for one age wise , Process of elimination by the looks/sounds of things
