Very nice. I live close to work, so I walk. I wanted to keep going this morning.

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

Can't you just move to California. Or Florida?

We can't do that here because the whole country has crap weather. Suppose Cornwall is about the best bit but there is no work there and house prices are silly.

I could, but the cost of living is much less here. My rent on a 2500 sq ft condo is $700 a month. That wouldn't get me a trailer in the desert in California. I'd lose half of my paycheck to taxes for being an evil Capitalist Banker also. They already take me for almost 60% here.

Nevada? No income tax there. I could live in Nevada in a trailer in the desert. Just walk into town of a night and play some poker. Always wanted to live in a trailer but here they are called caravans and it's all a bit shit.

At least it would be brutally hot there all the time. I wouldn't have to adjust to the changes. The last time I was there it was 120° F the whole time.

Been there in winter when it was raining, even a bit of snow. Chilly at night as well. Always been there in the winter though. I know it gets silly hot in the summer.
